The Challenge

The Challenge

Yaskawa is a global powerhouse. Their industrial robots and AC drives are precision-engineered, technically formidable, and deployed in some of the world's most demanding manufacturing environments. But global brand content rarely speaks to local audiences, and India has its own rhythms, its own celebrations, and its own cultural moments that matter to the people working with this technology every day.

The marketing manager's brief was clear: Indianise the content. Not superficially, not with a flag emoji on a generic post, but genuinely. Make Yaskawa's machines feel like they are part of Indian life, not just Indian industry.

The Solution

The approach was to put the robots to work in ways nobody had seen before. Not on a factory floor. In the middle of Indian culture.

Yaskawa's robotic arms were animated and visualised lighting diyas for Diwali, the precision of their movement reframed as something ceremonial and warm. The same arms painted the Indian national flag for Independence Day, the tricolour rendered with the kind of clean, controlled strokes only a six-axis robot could produce. For Christmas and New Year, the robots became part of the celebration, interacting with their environment in ways that were unexpected, playful, and immediately shareable.

Products beyond the robots, including drives and motion control systems, were brought into the visual world too, placed into contexts that made industrial hardware feel dynamic and alive.

Generative AI was leveraged throughout the process to accelerate ideation, build environments, and produce visuals that would have been technically difficult or time-consuming to achieve through conventional design alone. The result was content that moved faster, looked more ambitious, and still felt considered rather than machine-generated.

What was built

Festive and celebratory social media creatives for Diwali, Independence Day, Christmas, and New Year. Robotic arm visualisations interacting with cultural and seasonal environments. Product content featuring drives and motion control systems in dynamic settings. Gen AI-assisted creative production workflow integrated throughout.

Result

Content that made people stop and look twice. Industrial robots are not typically social media material, but when a Yaskawa arm is lighting a diya or sweeping the tricolour across a frame, it earns attention even from audiences who have nothing to do with manufacturing. For Yaskawa India, the content gave their social presence a cultural voice that felt genuinely local, which is exactly what had been missing.
